Russian cyclist Valeriya Valgonen told that she started road competitions in Slovakia in a neutral status and noted that the Russian team was well received there.
Valgonen has already won two gold medals at the Spartakiad of the strongest – in the team race for St. Petersburg and the omnium.
– I did not expect the second gold medal, because at the Grand Prix in St. Petersburg there was a fierce fight with Gulnaz Khatuntseva and I thought she would win.
Do you aspire to international departures?
– We were racing in Slovakia, we were very well received there. We have a girl in the team who communicates with the Slovakian coach and they took us there. It was good that they accepted us.
Isn’t the season boring?
– I want more shopping.
Are you satisfied with Spartakiad?
– I would like more competition – they allowed the omnium for one person from the region, suddenly there were fewer people in the race, it would have been two – already better. There would be more rivals, but the fight would be fairer.
