Three-time Olympic cross-country skiing champion Bolshunov says he’s ready to try his hand at tennis and golf

Three-time Olympic champion in cross-country skiing Alexander Bolshunov who took part in the kayak tournament, said he was ready to try his hand at tennis and golf.

On Sunday, Bolshunov competed in a star-studded display race in kayaking as part of the Ageev Brothers Cup and Olympic champions Yuri Postrigay and Alexander Dyachenko in rowing and canoeing. The skier took fifth place in the crew with gymnast Anna Sokolova, rowers Artyom Kononyuk and Mikhail Bartoshevich.

What other species would you like to try?

– I play tennis. I even made a small yard at home. It is also possible to play golf. I played golf with my father when I visited him in the village.

– That is, Tarpishchev and the head of the golf association have to call you, as Yuri Postrigai did?

– I don’t know (laughs).

– You took fifth place today. Maybe you should stay in rowing to be number one?

– When Postrigay told me that the distance was 200 meters, I immediately said that I would not go. It doesn’t matter, let’s do at least 10 kilometers. Yes, if today we ran a kilometer, the result would be different.

– Let Klebo row 200 meters?

– Yes.

– What are your plans for the future? Will you go to Tyumen training camp?

– Yes, I will. It’s just that now there was a real need to stay, there was uncertainty about when (of the birth of a child). I was thinking of staying a few days, but it turned out to be longer. Still, the expense and the birth of a child are incomparable,” Bolshunov told reporters.

The prestigious “Friendship Race” took place between four kayakers at a distance of 200 meters. Each crew consisted of two professional rowers and two athletes from other disciplines.
