The table tennis Spartakiad finalist shared what his cries meant after winning a point

Spartakiad’s strongest table tennis tournament runner-up Pyotr Fedotov told he didn’t know the meaning of his shouting during the match, but did so in order to relieve the emotional stress.

Fedotov on Tuesday in the semifinals of the All-Russian Spartakiad defeated the second-ranked Russian Kirill Skachkov with the score 4:3. In the final, the athlete will play with the leader of the ranking Vladimir Sidorenko.

– I always have such an emotional charge. Let’s just say it’s not my best yet. These are meaningless words, everyone shouts them, including me. All over the world they scream like that, but no one knows what it means. When I started at the age of 7, everyone was screaming, and they still scream today. It sometimes looks like a kind of circus, but it’s not a curse, no. It’s just an outlet for the emotions. It helps to evacuate stress, to relax. It also puts pressure on the opponent. When I yell loudly, I know it can put pressure on him. I use it a little, and sometimes I scream in fear,” Fedotov said.
