“International departures without Russian skiers are just the Norwegian championship” – Guberniev backed Klebo’s new statement

International departures without the participation of Russian skiers will not be of great interest in Europe, the presenter and commentator of is sure Dmitri Guberniev .

Former five-time Olympic champion, Norwegian Johannes Klebo said Russian skiers should be allowed to participate in international competitions “for the common good”, because he “always wants to fight the strongest and defeat them”. Before that, the Norwegian repeatedly said that the decision to withdraw the Russian skiers was the right one.

How do you assess Klebo’s statement? Previously, he had a different opinion.

– International starts without Russian skiers are just a Norwegian championship. Perhaps economic problems were looming ahead of Norwegian skiers. On the one hand, it will be easier for them to win prize money, it will be easier to win without ours, on the other hand, the Norwegian Open will not be very interesting in Europe. The only question is that the decision will not be made by Klebo. Yes, it is a brilliant and the biggest competitor, but the decision will be made by other people.

Anyway, I don’t expect anything good. I think that in the coming season our skiers will not compete on the international stage and will not go to the World Championships, Guberniev told a correspondent.

The Russians have been suspended from participating in international competitions due to the situation in Ukraine.
