The 30-year-old was placed in an induced coma after surgery, which was necessary due to a head injury suffered by Peters in training.
“Amy Peters’ condition has changed. She has regained consciousness. This means she can communicate a little non-verbally. Amy recognizes people, understands words and is able to perform more and more shares,” reports the SD Worx team on the official website.
It should be noted that at present, doctors cannot predict the consequences that the athlete will have to live after the injury. Additionally, it is reported that Peters will undergo a specialized intensive neurorehabilitation program at a professional clinic.
