The International SAMBO Federation continues to ignore requests from our country.
The Ukrainian national team will pass the European Sambo Championship. The said statement on its official website was made by the federation of this sport. The reason is simple – entry to the international tournament of Russian and Belarusian athletes.
In this regard, the leadership of the organization said that the Ukrainian team will not compete in the championship, which will be held from 14 to 19 September in Serbia.
At the same time, it was noted that the Ukrainian side has repeatedly appealed to the International Sambo Federation (FIAS) with a request to join the sanctions of the entire civilized world against athletes from the aggressor countries. However, all official letters were ignored.
FIAS and the European Sambo Federation (ESF) allowed the Russians and Belarusians to participate in the tournament in a neutral status.
At the same time, all Russian sambaists signed petitions in support of the terrorist country’s military actions in Ukraine. In addition, most of them are military personnel and representatives of other law enforcement agencies of the Russian Federation.
It will be remembered that earlier in Sumy during the shelling, the champion of Ukraine in sambo wrestling was killed.
