Slovak spent 24 seasons in the NHL
Famous Slovak ice hockey player Zdeno Hara announced his retirement.
Hara was drafted by the New York Islanders in 1996. The Slovak made 1,680 NHL appearances in 24 seasons and set the league record for most appearances by a defenseman.
In addition to the Islanders, Hara played for the Ottawa Senators, Boston Bruins, and Washington Capitals. In 2011, the hockey player with the Bruins won the Stanley Cup, and also participated in the NHL All-Star Game six times.
In 2009, Hara was named NHL Defensive Player of the Season. On account of the Slovak player – more than 70 matches for the national team, with which Zdeno won the silver of the World Cup twice.
