Another federation decided to remove Russian and Belarusian athletes from competitions. The International Judo Federation announced the imposition of sanctions against athletes from aggressor countries.
The organization’s executive committee has disqualified athletes from Russia and Belarus until at least January 2023.
“Due to the current international circumstances and to ensure the protection of all athletes in the sport of judo, today, September 21, the Executive Committee of the International Judo Federation decided not to allow athletes from Russia and Belarus to participate in international competitions,” the IJF website said in a statement.
