Athletistic/ Figure Skating. Figure skating coach and choreographer Ilya Averbukh has explained why some figure skaters failed to show their maximum during the Russian national team’s test skates on September 24-25.
“For the girls, the season is going to be really difficult, and you have to get in shape gradually, their performances are understandable. People are working, the team is almost all in the ranks, it’s very important. I’m happy that our figure skating brings together so many spectators in difficult times, and thanks to the federation, there is an incentive to compete and compete,” said Averbukh.
Part of the criticism, among others, was received by figure skaters Kamila Valieva and Alexandra Trusova for the insufficient number of elements in the programs. Valieva presented a new free short program, and Trusova presented only a short one. Alexandra was forced to retire from the free skates due to back problems.
