Warren: We’re still working to make Fury-Joshua fight happen

The promoter handed over the contract to Anthony’s side for approval

Frank Warrenpromoter of WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury (32-0-1, 23 KOs), said he still hopes to fight Tyson with the ex-world champion Anthony Joshua.

“We will try to do it today. We are working hard to complete the process. It would be great if everyone agreed on all points.”

“Tyson told me what he wants. He waited ten days for a contract and lost his patience. Today we had a good meeting, we will try to convince him.”

“We are waiting for a contract. Previously, they agreed on certain points and handed it over to Joshua’s side for signing and waited for more than ten days. As far as I understand, it has not been signed yet. My son George spoke to Joshua’s team and said that the contract will be signed, so we are waiting.”

Fury has previously stated that he no longer intends to fight Joshua, as the time for reflection for Anthony is up. Tyson gave an ultimatum to Joshua to sign a contract by Monday, September 26th. Fury said that the negotiations were too long and he did not want Anthony to dictate his terms to him.

Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn said there was no chance of signing an agreement in such a short time. According to Hearn, in this way Fury decided to avoid a fight.

Joshua, in turn, agreed to sign the contract. The boxer stated that it remained to agree on the legal nuances of the fight.

In August, Joshua lost by split decision to Ukrainian boxer, WBA/WBO/IBF/IBO heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk.

Fury defeated Dillian Whyte ahead of schedule in April of this year, after which he announced his retirement twice. At the same time, Tyson has not yet vacated the WBC championship belt.
