Athletistic/ Others. Sports Minister of the Russian Federation Oleg Matytsin shared his opinion on how the sanctions have affected national sports.
“Each country has its own approach to the development of sport. We are always open, ready to invite friends to our home, and in sport, I am convinced, there are no hostile countries. Within a week, together with a number of leaders of national federations, we plan to come to Armenian Tsakhkadzor, where the famous base is located which has trained tens or even hundreds of Olympic champions, a symbol of our unity, integration and mutual support, as well as a signal to the international community and the IOC in this difficult time. That we have not weakened during the period of sanctions, but, on the contrary, we look confidently to the future”, – said Matytsin in his speech at the forum “Russia – a sporting power”.
The forum “Russia – a sports powerhouse” started in Kemerovo on September 28 and will end on September 30. Russian athletes are still suspended from almost all international competitions due to the situation in Ukraine.
