The athlete is tired of doing very difficult heavyweight training and wants to return to the previous category.
WBA, WBO and IBF heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk shared his opinion about the weight category change.
According to the 35-year-old Ukrainian, he thought about returning to the first heavyweight.
“I’m thinking of going back to cruiserweight and winning some more championships. Being heavyweight means a lot of weight. You have to eat a lot. It’s easy to fight these giants, but it’s hard to eat all the time.
Now I have to work harder than when I competed in the cruiserweight division, especially in training camps. I had to swim 10 kilometers and train hard. For now, I want to stop and rest. Training for six months is hard work. I haven’t seen my family for a long time, I haven’t seen my wife, children and others,” Usyk said in an interview with Parimatch.
Earlier, Alexander Usik called his optimal weight.
