Dakar winner Sergei Karyakin wrote a letter to the President of the International Automobile Federation (FIA) with a request to exclude political elements from a special document for Russians who must be signed to participate in the championship and the World Cup.

Available to , a letter from Karyakin to the head of the FIA, Mohammed bin Sulayem, has emerged, in which the driver asks to exclude political points from the newspaper due to the fact that the document “contradicts the principles of neutrality.”

– Our team could not continue to participate in the World Cup calendar due to the need to sign a special document for Russian athletes. I believe that signing this document is contrary to the principles of neutrality in politics. In more than 18 years of racing, more than half my life, I have clearly grasped the fundamental principle of equal conditions for all athletes, which the FIA strictly follows, the letter states.
