The Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) has taken decisions following the incident with the French driver “Alpha Tauri” Pierre Gasly at the Japanese Grand Prix, it is said website FIA.
The Formula 1 race, which took place on October 9, was interrupted on the third lap due to rain. After the pit stop, Gasly exceeded the speed limit and passed by a tractor that had entered the track to clean Carlos Sainz’s crashed Ferrari after takeoff.
The FIA has acknowledged that Gasly was not given prompt warning of the work on the track. The Federation has promised to continue to inform quickly of the work in progress on the track. In turn, the runner apologized for exceeding the limits in difficult weather conditions.
Additionally, Japan Race Director Eduardo Freitas will no longer be involved in the work until the end of the season. For the remaining races, only Nils Wittich will be race director.
