Magnussen wins pole position at Brazilian Grand Prix

The Dane will start from the first position of the grid for the first time in his career

Haas pilot Kevin Magnussen sensationally won the pole on Brazilian Grand Prix.

The Dane was 0.2 seconds ahead of the world champion Max Verstappen. Magnussen managed to drive a fast lap in the third qualifying segment, after which George Russell made a mistake, blocking the track for a while. The pause cost the competitors dearly – when the racers were able to compete again, it started to rain on the circuit. The Dane’s time was the best.

Magnussen will start a Formula 1 race for the first time in his career from the first position. In the individual standings of the World Championship, the Dane is in 13th position with 24 points.

Max Verstappen won his second consecutive title ahead of schedule. The Dutchman also set a new record by winning his 14th Grand Prix during the season.

On Saturday, the riders will have a second practice session and a sprint. The main race of the Brazilian Grand Prix will take place on 13 November.
