Binotto to step down as Ferrari chief, his place will be Alfa Romeo’s Vasser – media

According to the publication, Ferrari board chairman John Elkann has already decided on the appointment of the 54-year-old Vasser. It should take place in January 2023.

Binotto, 53, took over at Ferrari in January 2019, replacing Maurizio Arrivabene. In the current Formula 1 season, the Italian team takes second place in the constructors’ championship (524).

Wasser took over the Sauber in 2017, later the team expanded its cooperation with Alfa Romeo and changed its name. The Swiss team is in sixth place in the constructors’ championship (55).

Under Vasser’s leadership in the Alfa Romeo team, Sauber began his Formula 1 career under current Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc.
