The winner of the Russian “Dakar” marathon rally Sergei Karyakin told that he envies the participants of the 2023 race, but at the same time he understands that his participation in the competition is impossible under the current conditions.
Dakar-2023 started in Saudi Arabia on December 31 and will end on January 15.

Previously, it was announced that to participate in the Dakar, Russian athletes must complete a questionnaire from the International Automobile Federation (FIA) condemning the special operation in Ukraine. In November, Karyakin told he skipped the race due to his inability to sign FIA paperwork.
