Matsik’s crew won the third stage of the “Dakar” in the truck classification

The crew of the MM Technology team led by Martin Macik became the winner of the third stage of the Dakar Rally Marathon in the truck category.

Macik clocked a time of 4 hours 3 minutes 3 seconds. The second was the crew of Tatra under the control of the Czech Jaroslav Waltra (+4.7), the third was the Dutchman Martin van den Brink on Iveco (+4.08).

Overall leader Ales Loprais finished in fourth place, but continues to go for first place, having overcome three stages in 13 hours 54 minutes 36 seconds. Second place went to Jaroslav Waltr from Tatra Phoenix, third place went to Janus van Kasteren (Boss Machinery Team De Rooy Iveco).

In motorcycling, the stage victory went to Australian Daniel Sanders of Red Bull GasGas Factory Racing. Argentinian Kevin Benavidez (KTM, +5.08) took second place, while American Skyler Howes (Husqvarna, +9.18) came third.

Frenchman Alexandre Giroux (Yamaha Racing – SMX – Drag’ON) celebrated victory in the third stage for quadrocyclists – 4 hours 44 minutes 31 seconds. In the general classification, he is also the leader. Argentinian Francisco Flores of the Dragon team is second (+32.42). American Pablo Copetti is third (Del Amo Motorsports by Motul, +43.39).

In the SUV category, the third stage was won by Frenchman Guerlain Chichery on Prodrive. He clocked 3:22.57. South African Hank Lategan (Toyota, +3.26) finished second, while Argentinian Orlando Terranova (Prodrive, +5.04) completed the top three.

In the MTB standings, the first 3 are the representatives of the Can-Am team: the Polish Marek Gochal (14:28.03), the Brazilian Rodrigo Luppi de Oliveira (+11.36) and the Polish Eric Gochal (+33.15).

Due to bad weather, the duration of the special stages has been shortened.

Dakar takes place in Saudi Arabia, the marathon rally will last until January 15.
