Australian Toby Price took the final step of the podium in 2m28s. While Spaniards Joan Barreda Bort (+2m33s) and Kevin Benavides (+2m47s) finished in the top five, respectively.
Turbulent day for Audi
Audi had a day to forget at Dakar 2023. Multiple champion Stephane Peterhansel, had to retire because his navigator, Edouard Boulanger, was injured in an accident at kilometer 212. His partner Carlos Sainz , also hit his Audi at the same place and although he tried to continue the race, he was unable to do so and it was abandoned for the Spaniard.
Major win for Al Attiyah
Nasser Al Attiyah took the victory in today’s stage with a time of 3h13m12s. Second place went to Sébastien Loeb in 3m29s, Lategan finished third in 8m52s and they closed the top 5: Chicherit in 7 minutes and Zala in 10.
In this way, in the general classification, Al Attiyah asserted himself as the leader with an advantage of 1 hour and 6 minutes over Lategan and 1 hour and 13 minutes ahead of the third, the Brazilian Moraes. Loeb and Chicherit complete the top 5 of the global Car classifier, nearing the halfway point of the course.
