Dutchman Mitchel van den Brink won the sixth stage of the Dakar Rally Marathon in the truck category on an Iveco.
Van den Brink completed the 358 km special in 3 hours 46 minutes 58 seconds. Janus van Casteren (Iveco), another Dutch representative, took second place, 35 seconds behind the leader. Third place goes to Pole Martin Macik (Iveco, +2.30).
The moto class was won by Argentinian Luciano Benavidez in a Husqvarna, finishing in 3 hours 14 minutes 38 seconds. Second was another Husqvarna team member, American Skyler Howes (+0.56), third place went to KTM rider Toby Price (+2.20) from Australia.
In the SUV category, the stage was won by Qatari Nasser Al-Attiyah in a Toyota. It showed a time of 3 hours 13 minutes 12 seconds. Frenchman Sébastien Loeb finished next (+3.29) on BRX. Another representative of Toyota, the South African Henk Lategan (+8.52) became the third.
Dakar takes place in Saudi Arabia, the marathon rally will last until January 15.
