Dutch driver Janus van Kasteren won the seventh round of the Dakar rally marathon in the truck category at the wheel of an Iveco.
Van Kasteren completed the 333 km special in 3 hours 35 minutes 10 seconds. Second place went to Czech Ales Loprais (Praga), 3 minutes 42 seconds behind the winner. Third place went to another Dutch representative, Martin van den Brink (Iveco, +6.19).
The general classification is led by Loprais, followed by van den Brink. Closes the first three van Kasteren.
Lithuanian Rokas Baciuska won the ATV category in BRP, finishing in 3 hours 45 minutes 34 seconds. Second place went to Brazilian Cristiano Batista (BRP, +1.03), third place was taken by Saudi pilot Yasser Seaidan and Russian navigator Alexei Kuzmich (BRP, +2.51).
In the SUV category, the stage was won by the representative of Saudi Arabia Yazid Al-Raji on Toyota. It showed a time of 3 hours 6 minutes 23 seconds. Lithuanian Vaidotas Zala (Teltonika, +8.54) and Frenchman Guerlain Schisheri of Prodrive (+10.15) finished second.
In the biker and mountain bike category, the seventh stage of the Dakar was canceled due to difficult weather conditions.
The Dakar takes place in Saudi Arabia and ends on January 15.
