Sébastien Loeb set the Dakar record for the number of consecutive victories in a single rally raid

french runner Sebastien Loeb won the sixth consecutive victory in the marathon of the Dakar Rally 2023, which takes place in Saudi Arabia.

The Bahrain Raid Xtreme (Prodrive) crew led by a 48-year-old Frenchman covered the distance of the 13th stage in 2 hours 26 minutes 17 seconds. Nasser Al-Attiyah (Toyota Gazoo Racing; +5.28) of Qatar, who held the overall lead on the eve of the finish of the rally-raid by 1 hour 21 minutes 42 seconds, set the second fastest time. The top 3 in this category at the stage was closed by the Swede Mattias Ekström (Team Audi; +6.31).

Loeb achieved a unique feat by winning six rounds of the Dakar in a row for the first time in the history of rally-marathons. The Frenchman became the only leader in this indicator, beating Finn Ari Vatanen, who held the record for the winning streak (5) since 1989.

The MM Technology truck, driven by Czech driver Martin Macik, won the stage in the truck category, the crew completed the special in 3 hours 2 minutes 43 seconds. Dutchman Janus van Kasteren (Boss Machinery Team De Rooy Iveco; +3.25) and another Czech Jaroslav Waltr (Tatra Buggyra ZM Racing; +10.31) are next on the list. Van Kasteren retains the first row in the general classification.

Among the motorcycle riders, the fastest was Argentinian Kevin Benavidez, who plays for the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing team. The Brazilian Marcelo Medeiros has again become the best in the mountain bike classification.
