Former Formula 1 driver Nikita Mazepin of the 2023 season will perform in the Asian Le Mans Series (ALMS).
“I’m happy to be back in the race. Together with my 99 Racing teammates, I hope to have a great experience competing in my favorite sport, — quotes the 23-year-old Motorsport Week driver.
Mazepin will compete in the LMP2 category with Briton Ben Barnicot and Spaniard Felix Porteiro. The first race of the series will take place in Dubai on February 11.
Mazepin was the Haas team driver in the 2021 season and finished 21st in the final standings. On March 5, 2022, it was announced that the team was ending its cooperation with the Russian. At the Silk Way Rally last year, Mazepin won the off-road vehicle category.
