The American giant will develop the engine together with Red Bull
American auto giant Ford announced his return to Formula 1 since 2026.
The American manufacturer will develop engines for the Royal races in conjunction with Red Bull. In 2026, a new technical regulation for power plants will come into force, and Ford intends to take a chance to gain a foothold in Formula 1 thanks to the changes.
“This will be a true strategic technical partnership. Ford will help with battery and hybrid technology and more to keep the team ahead of the competition,” said Red Bull team principal Christian Horner.
Ford last competed in Formula 1 in 2004. Recall that from 2026, Audi will also take part in the Royal Races.
In 2022, Max Verstappen became the champion for the second time in a row. The Dutchman’s team, Red Bull, also won the Constructors’ Championship.
