Six times winner of the road racing world championship in the Spanish MotoGP category Mark Marquez of Repsol Honda will miss the Argentine Grand Prix with a broken finger, according to the team’s website.
Marquez suffered a broken first pastern in his right hand at the start of the MotoGP season in Portugal. The Spaniard successfully underwent surgery, which consisted of closed reduction of the fracture and internal fixation.
“Mark and the team have decided that the rider will miss the next round of the World Championship in order to fully focus on recovery and tackle the upcoming stages in the best possible condition,” the statement read.
The second round of the World Cup, the Argentinian Grand Prix, will take place from March 31 to April 2.
