Pilot Red Bull Max Verstappen won the qualification for Australian Grand Prix.
Behind the reigning champion are two Mercedes drivers George Russell and Lewis Hamilton. Next to Hamilton on the second row of the starting grid in tomorrow’s race will be Fernando Alonso. The top 10 also included Carlos Sainz, Lance Stroll, Charles Leclerc, Alex Albon, Pierre Gasly and Nico Hulkenberg.
The qualification turned out to be a failure for Verstappen’s teammate Sergio Perez. The Mexican at the beginning of the first session blocked the wheels in the third turn and flew off the track. Perez, who is second in the Formula 1 championship, will start in Melbourne from the last row.
The Australian Grand Prix will take place on April 2. The beginning is at 7:00 am Kyiv time.
