Verstappen wins the Australian Grand Prix in a race with three restarts

Max’s second win of the season

Pilot Red Bull Max Verstappen became the winner Australian Grand Prix.

Verstappen, who won the qualification, lost the start to Mercedes drivers George Russell and Lewis Hamilton. However, after the restart (the race was stopped after the accident of Alexander Albon), Max regained the lead.

Three laps before the finish line, the race was stopped again – a wheel blew off the car of Kevin Magnussen (Haas). After the second restart, a large-scale accident occurred due to a collision between two Alpin pilots – Pierre Gasly and Esteban Okon.

The organizers of the race had to carry out another restart. On the final lap, Verstappen retained first place for his second win of the season. Hamilton is second, Fernando Alonso (Aston Martin) finished third.

Verstappen remains the leader of the overall standings, extending his lead over Red Bull teammate Sergio Pérez by 15 points.
