The first stop of the SMP RSKG season in Smolensk was attended by 7,000 spectators and 79 drivers

The starting stage of the Russian Circuit Racing Series (RSCG) on the Smolenskoye Koltso track near Dorogobuzh took place last weekend.

For the first time in three years the races were held with spectators, previously this had been prevented by the COVID-19 pandemic. As a result, for several days of the stage, around 7,000 people gathered in the stands.

The total number of participants in the different classes was 79 runners. In Touring, the first race was won by the representative of Lukoil Racing Egor Orudzhev, the second by Kirill Ladygin of LADA Sport ROSNEFT. The overall leader was TAIF Motorsport’s Dmitry Bragin, who finished second and fourth in two races.

In the Super Production category, the two stage races were won by Leonid Panfilov (LADA Sport ROSNEFT), Rustam Fatkhutdinov (AKHMAT Racing Team) also won the S1600 twice, Andrey Maslennikov (Lukoil Racing) won both Touring Light races.

The general classification of the Sportprototype CN class was led by Sergey Ievlev, who won the qualification in his group and one of the races. Finally, in the new SMP Historic Cup classification of the Standard subgroup, Andrey Kozlov won two races and in qualifying, Andrey Artyushin won in the Super Sport category, winning one race and taking bronze in another.

The second stage of the SMP RSKG will be held from July 8 to 10 at the Nizhny Novgorod ring.
