Stage 2 G-DRIVE SMP RCRS Touring: results of the Smolensk round

Participants of the G-Drive SMP RSKG Touring Series contested six races on the Smolensky Ring, scoring points for the Russian Championship and Cup, as well as the RAF Cup. Saturday’s sunshine was replaced by Sunday’s rain, but that didn’t scare off motorsport fans. And variable coverage, much to their delight, caused pilots to seek out non-standard solutions – and not everyone was lucky to find them.

In SMP TCR Russia (Touring), Dmitry Bragin (Cupra Leon, TAIF Motorsport) won both races: Saturday from pole, and Sunday from 10th place! He was the only one to venture into the wet on slicks, and initially lost heavily to the leaders on wet tyres. But in the second phase of the race he was able to take the lead, pass all the rivals one by one and secure another victory. This time the podium was shared with him by Kirill Ladygin (LADA Vesta, LADA Sport Rosneft) and Rustam Fatkhutdinov (Audi RS3, Alga Motorsport) / Yesterday’s winners Alexander Smolyar and Pavel Kalmanovich finished 5th and 8th today.

In Sunday’s super-production race, LADA Vesta again crossed the finish line, this time driven not by Leonid Panfilov, but by his partner in the AVTOVAZ factory team, Mikhail Mityaev. Yesterday’s winner Roman Golikov (Honda Civic, Lubsar Delrus Neva Motorsport) settled for bronze, leaving behind Maxim Turiyev (LADA Vesta, Lecar). Nikolai Vikhansky, who won the silver medal yesterday, closed the top 5 today.

In the Sportprototype CN category, the fastest car – Mitjet 2L – was available only to Konstantin Sugrobov. In Saturday’s race his technique let him down, but on Sunday he bounced back – and was the first across the finish line. However, with no direct competitors, he failed to score points, and the drivers of the Shortcut cars became the main characters in both races.

Alexander Dudarev was twice as best in this category, winning both on dry asphalt and in difficult wet conditions. Kirill Kirakozov twice stood on the podium: on Saturday in second place, on Sunday – in third. Alexey Khairov and Stepan Krumilov also became winners.

Recall that the results of the athletes on the national Shortcut sports cars also count for the multi-stage competition of the G-Drive Cup, which is organized jointly with the general partner of the series, the high-tech fuel brand G-Drive. from Gazpromneft gas station. network. It is not difficult to guess that after the weekend in the Smolensky ring, Alexander Dudarev became the leader. The Petersburger has 61 points, the closest pursuers – Kirill Kirakozov and Stepan Krumilov – are 11 and 15 points behind respectively.

In the retroscoring of the SMP Historic Cup, Vladimir Cherevan won again – even though he started from the back of the field! With him, Vyacheslav Donets (Moskvich-408) took the podium in the 2000 category – just like the day before, he won bronze. And Ivan Tarakanov took silver today – yesterday’s medalist Vladislav Shevel finished Sunday’s race in a gravel pit.

In the Zhiguli1600 group, the podium also looked like yesterday – except that Igor Shunailov (VAZ-2101) took not second, but first place, and this time Ivan Tarakanov got silver. Artem Fridman (VAZ-2101) is third again – and yesterday’s winner Andrei Kozlov did not finish his VAZ-2107.

The races were broadcast by the television channels , Match! Country” and “Match! Arena”.

The next stage of the championship and the Russian Cup on the motor circuit will take place in Kazan on June 17 and 18.
