Hamilton would also like to include a clause in the new deal that he will become a Mercedes ambassador for 10 years and his salary will be £20million a year. Team members are not prepared to accept such requests.
According to the media, the driver’s salary is currently 27.5 million pounds (over 30 million euros) per year, and the contract also includes a bonus of 15 million if the Briton wins the world title.
Hamilton is a seven-time Formula 1 champion, having won six titles with the German team.
