Pilot Karjakin compared his carbon fiber off-road vehicle with the Batmobile

Three times winner of the Silk Way Rally Marathon Sergei Karyakin told that his new all-terrain vehicle, prepared for the 2023 race, resembles Batman’s car.

The “Silk Way” rally will be held from July 5 to July 15 on the Kazan – Moscow route. The total distance in 2023 will be 5,248 kilometers, including 2,277 kilometers of high-speed special stages.

– When passing the checks, there were difficulties with blood pressure – 150-100. But for me, such indicators are normal, but the commission considered it abnormal. And when you have to sit and wait for the indicators to come back to normal, you get even more nervous, you can’t calm down (laughs).

The organizers are putting forward new requirements for the health of runners. They are perfect for paying special attention to this aspect. Safety is paramount. Because any incident scares people away, and if something happens, then the race story will be bureaucratized, which will not benefit anyone.

Today, the entrance ticket to motorsport is very expensive. You just need to buy materials for half a million rubles, as well as buy or build a buggy, which costs 8-9 million rubles at the current exchange rate. There are sponsors, but not to the point of giving money to a newcomer without results. It’s good that I have the opportunity to participate, but I want to popularize our sport.

– You have a new car. Arrange?

– Yes. Our team has completely changed the approach to building a car. We put it together in three weeks. We came to the race fully assembled, we’re not ending it here.

– Full carbon body. What does it look like?

– Such a “Batmobile” (laughs). The car has the highest potential. It remains to complete it with a crew, and the victory will be ours. I’m sure we’ll enjoy it,” Karjakin told .
