VRT team driver Vladimir Vasiliev after completing the first stage of the Silk Way Rally said he was comfortable in the hot weather, although the temperature in the SUV’s cabin reached 70 degrees Celsius .
The first stage of the Silk Way Rally on the Kazan-Ufa route will take place on Friday. The distance of the special is 142 kilometers. Vasilyev arrived first at the finish line in 1 hour 32.39 minutes.
– At the first start! Happy Silk Road! Today there were good paths, not at all easy – along fields and ravines. I wouldn’t say they were going 140 km/h. I had to control myself, ride.
There was an ordinary, shallow ford. We passed it carefully. There were some navigation issues when we turned the wrong way. Dark at full speed? Wow, I thought, I’m going to the dacha. We came back several times because of the navigation, the spot was in the book. It was 60-70 degrees in the cabin, it was comfortable.
We started, drove 300 meters and stopped. It was I who forgot to close my purse and everything fell under my feet. And it is very pleasant that there are a large number of spectators – this has not yet happened anywhere in Russia on the Silk Road, – the correspondent of reports Vasiliev’s words.
