Silk Way Rally off-road leader Vladimir Vasiliev of the VRT team said after the finish of the fourth stage that he was bothered by thick dust all along the route.
The fourth stage of the “Silk Way” rally on the Magnitogorsk – Orenburg route ended on Monday. The air temperature in the racing area reached 44 degrees Celsius.
– The stage went well, but at the very beginning we punctured two wheels. Sergey Vyazovich’s MAZ rolled around us and we rode in dust the whole way. On the first stage, we caught up with him and rested, but we couldn’t pass him because of the dust and a punctured wheel. In the second part of the special, in the middle, we found ourselves again in the dust and rode like that until the end.
Today it was much warmer, the car is also tough. We turned on all possible fans, even the power of the generator was no longer sufficient – low voltage. Well, it’s difficult for us too – the correspondent of transmits the words of Vasiliev.
The fifth stage of the Silk Road will take place on Tuesday, the route will go from Orenburg to Samara. The rally will end on July 15.
