Russian UralMotorSport driver Yuri Naiman, who is competing in the truck category, after finishing the fourth stage of the Silk Way Rally, spoke about the difficult conditions in the car due to the heat.
The fourth stage of the “Silk Way” rally on the Magnitogorsk – Orenburg route ended on Monday. The air temperature in the racing area reached 44 degrees Celsius.
In the general classification of the stage, Nyman finished 16th in the first special, and 30th in the second.
– The first section was so hot it was very hard to ride, and that doesn’t seem like it to us. The second stage went much easier, maybe because it got cloudier. I liked going there. In the car, of course, it is very hot – like in a sauna, but you can leave the sauna, but here you have to sit until the end. I was driving and I was like, “How many miles left?” I wanted to get out of the car, – the correspondent reports Naiman’s words.
Truck classification leader Belarusian MAZ-SPORTavto driver Sergei Vyazovich said he tried to ride the stage carefully and without risk.
We rode at top speed for three days. Today I did not have time to move, because we bypassed Vladimir Vasilyev and entered the channel first. And all the way down the track, we were not just the first truck, but also the car. We were careful, the tactic was to drive calmly, so we even wanted to let Eduard Nikolaev pass and drive behind, because we are two minutes ahead in the general classification,” noted Vyazovich.
