Driver Vladimir Vasiliev, leader of the Silk Way Rally off-road classification, said that on stage six his car’s gearbox broke down and it took 45 minutes to repair.
The sixth stage of the “Silk Way” rally on the Samara – Saratov route ended on Wednesday. The stage consisted of two special stages – Vasiliev won the second section.
– On the first stage, our gearbox broke down, there was only first and second gear, and the rest was gone. We stopped, drove in second gear at a speed of 60 km/h. It’s good that there was a little liaison where we ran into the mechanics and they were authorized to work on this site. In 45 minutes they changed boxes, almost a minute later they arrived at the start of the second section and even managed to regain some time. So today is a bad, but heroic day, – the correspondent of reports the words of Vasiliev.
