The driver and co-driver died in an accident during the Sligo Rally in Ireland, reports Independent.ie.
The incident happened on Sunday during the sixth stage of the race. The Ford Escort carrying Gene McDonald and Dira Maguire veered off the track and crashed into a wall. Both men died of their injuries. The race was stopped.
Ireland’s motorsport organization Motorsport Ireland has announced the launch of an investigation.
