Boris Rotenberg announced the development of an endurance racing car faster than Mercedes and Toyota

Founder and head of the SMP Racing motorsport development program Boris Rotenberg At the “Sports Far” session at the Eastern Economic Forum, he announced the creation of a car for endurance races, which shows good results in competitions.

— Let’s start with the fact that we achieved quite high results in motorsport. We have built three cars capable of competing with the best and most famous teams. At one point we were even “pressed” by the weight, because we were already a second behind the fastest cars. When you drive 24 hours at Le Mans, it’s an incredible spectacle, much cooler than in Formula 1, and we came third with our car after two hybrids. In other words, they have become the best non-hybrid car in the world.

When this difficult period began, we moved all competitions to Russia. And they created a car for our Russian roads. We win our races to survive. For example, there will be a 6-hour race in Sochi soon, we will continue to move in this direction. We are ahead of Mercedes and Toyota in time, our car is faster, thanks to the drivers and the aerodynamics that we are gaining.

When the “Games of the Future” project started, we were already organizing eSports events on simulators. And at that time we began to create something of our own – our simulator, where there are both international tracks and all our Russian tracks, which we digitized. Yes, the program is based on an Italian engine, but thanks to Games of the Future we licensed it. They put Russian highways on this engine, transformed it, and now you can even learn Russian traffic rules on it. It can be used in schools etc.

The pilots we train receive a license ourselves using this simulator. We now have six thousand participants taking part in Russian competitions. But abroad, you understand, there are 30,000 at each of these events,” reports a correspondent, reporting Rotenberg’s words.

The International Automobile Federation (FIA) allows Russian and Belarusian athletes to compete in neutral status and requires them to sign a document as proof of solidarity with the FIA principles of neutrality.

Gazprom-Media Holding acts as an information partner of the Eastern Economic Forum.
