The representative of the Netherlands, who also won the sprint race in the USA, was accompanied on the podium by two Britons – Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes), also second in the sprint, and Lando Norris (McLaren).
In addition to them, the top 10 finishers were: Carlos Sainz (Ferrari), Sergio Perez (Red Bull), pole position holder Charles Leclerc (Ferrari), George Russell (Mercedes), Pierre Gasly (Alpin), Lance Stroll (Aston Martin) and Yuki Tsunoda (Alpha Tauri).
The winner of the two previous Grand Prix, Oscar Piastri from McLaren, as well as Fernando Alonso (Aston Martin) and Esteban Ocon (Alpin), failed to reach the finish line.
Let us remind you that on October 7, Max Verstappen became the Formula 1 world champion ahead of schedule in the 2023 season, taking second place in the sprint race at the Qatar Grand Prix. His Red Bull team won the Constructors’ Championship no less ahead of schedule.
The next stage of the Royal Race will take place in Mexico in a week, on October 29.
