Mazepin thinks the adrenaline in rallying is no less than in Formula 1

Former Haas Formula 1 team driver Nikita Mazepin in an interview with , he compared the sensations of driving a car in the Royal Races and rallying.

Mazepin, as part of the SNAG Racing team, will participate in the Silk Way Rally Marathon 2022, which will be held from July 6 to 16. The race starts in Astrakhan, the finish is planned in Moscow, the total course of the marathon is more than 4300 km.

What tactic will you choose?

– Still undecided. When we say that 300 km/h in Formula 1 in a straight line is fast, yes it is. But 130 km / h over rough terrain – sensations cause the body to produce adrenaline, perhaps no less than in F-1. Astrakhan is a difficult start. Many guys say that you need to leave Astrakhan, calculate the pace and try to drive without breakdowns.

– Where is it scarier – inside an off-road vehicle or a Formula 1 car?

– I am not afraid there or there, because for the runner this feeling is very dangerous – the more afraid you are, the more likely you are to fall. It’s hard to compare. If in “Formula 1” you are almost lying down, then here you are in an upright position, close to how you are at home on a stool. The analogy is difficult to make. Common — there are four wheels and a steering wheel, the rest is different. Do I get high riding an ATV? Of course, otherwise I wouldn’t be here,” Mazepin said.

Last season the Russian played in F-1 for Haas, who terminated his contract in April.
