The Chinese-Russian crew consisting of Hou Hongning, Shen Xin and flight engineer Robert Amatych will participate in the Silk Way Rally in the Grand Tour category “On the roads of Peter” to enjoy the beauties of Russia, the captain of the One Belt A road team told ‘ Liu Xianfeng.
The Silk Road will run from July 6 to July 16, starting in Astrakhan and ending in Moscow. The total length will be 4380 kilometers, of which 2800 kilometers will be special stages. Grand Tour participants will perform various tasks during their race.
– We came to the race at the invitation of the KAMAZ-master team, we were very flattered by the warm welcome and the high level of organization of the Silk Way Rally. And in this we see the concern of our Russian friends,” Liu Xianfeng told .
– When do you think the race will be able to return to China?
“Hopefully the sooner the borders open the better. I would love to see that happen soon but I don’t have details. That question depends on the coronavirus restrictions in China.
– Why does your team participate in the Grand Tour, and not in the general classification of the race, as was the case in 2016?
– This time we want to fully enjoy the beauty of Russia, landscapes, nature. This is one of our goals.
