Seven-time world motorcycle racing champion in the MotoGP class Valentino Rossi will participate in the World Endurance Championship (WEC) in 2024, reports the tournament press service.
The Italian rider has signed a contract with BMW M Team WRT and will become the first MotoGP champion to spend a full season in the WEC. Rossi will compete in the LMGT3 category.
The Italian, who will celebrate his 45th birthday in February, will receive car number 46, which the rider used in MotoGP.
Former Formula 1 driver Mick Schumacher will also compete in the WEC in 2024. The son of seven-time racing champion Michael Schumacher is joining Signatech Alpine and will drive one of their A424 hypercars in 2024.
