Baja World Cup winner and World Rally Raid Cup driver Vladimir Vasiliev said he was happy that the Silk Way rally-raid took place only on the territory of Russia.
The Silk Road will run from July 6 to July 16, starting in Astrakhan and ending in Moscow. The total length will be 4380 kilometers, of which 2800 kilometers will be special stages.
– This year there will be an unusual race – the route will pass through Grozny, and there have never been rally raids there. It is good that the “silk road” passes through the territory of Russia. Last year I told Vladimir Chagin that we have many roads and they are no worse than the Mongolian roads,” Vasiliev told a press conference.
