The current agreements with the two drivers run until the end of 2024. The Italian team is ready to offer a contract to Leclerc, 26, until the start of the 2030 season with a salary which will increase from 25 million euros in 2025 to 50 million in 2029. Thus, Leclerc can become one of the three highest paid drivers with Lewis Hamilton (“Mercedes”) and Max Verstappen (“Red Bull”), which earned 55 and 70 million respectively in 2023.
Ferrari offers Sainz a deal for one season in 2025, but the 29-year-old wants to extend the contract by two years. The Italian team is seen as a likely replacement for the Spaniard Lando Norris who has a current contract with McLaren.
Leclerc has been driving for Ferrari since 2018, Sainz since 2021. At the end of the season, the Monegasque took fifth place in the individual competition with 206 points, while the Spanish driver obtained 200 points and seventh place.
