Seven-time Formula 1 champion Lewis Hamilton failed to collect a commemorative figurine from the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) at the annual Formula 1 gala ceremony and gave it to a stranger named Nihad Nesirli .

Previously, Hamilton criticized the FIA for choosing the venue for the gala ceremony, which took place in Baku. The 38-year-old Briton questioned the organization’s commitment to environmental principles. In 2024, a similar ceremony will take place in Rwanda’s capital, Kigali.
