VRT Team Driver Vladimir Vasiliev spoke about the problems he encountered during the fifth stage of the Silk Way Rally Marathon.
Vasilyev won the fifth stage of the “Silk Road” in the off-road category, showing the result of 2 hours 39 minutes 12 seconds.
– We drove quietly, like in a summer cottage. The paths here are very good. I mean heavy, I would even say. If you go fast on these trails, they are very technical and challenging. There were no problems, but if the speed is high, you don’t know what’s behind each corner or springboard. There were such holes – mother, don’t worry. Therefore, you should always be careful. The road is really cool, great for rally raids in general. If the world competitions were open, I would go, but in Russia everyone goes. 50 meters straight has never been. From top to bottom, there was no more than 70 km/h. The roads, of course, are very rough, I ran out of rear shocks. The second is already, it is very hot,” Vasiliev told reporters.
The length of the stage (Grozny – Grozny) was 298.5 km including 217.5 of specials.
The “Silk Way” rally-raid will end in Moscow on July 16.
