ACA CDA prohibits APAT from using the name National Tourism

The entity led by Eugenio Breard has issued a harsh statement in recent hours.

The Automobile Sports Commission (CDA) of Automobile Club Argentino (ACA) issued a press release announcing that Tourism Car Owners Association (APAT) cannot use the name National Tourism during 2024 because it is owned by the institution located in Av. Del Libertador.

It can be recalled that National Tourism and Pista Tourism have decided to rely on the administration of ACTC starting next year. This situation is possible, because the entity led by Eugenio Breard examines this issue once the removal from the category is known.

Below is the CDA statement from the ACA

By resolution of the CDA/ACA/FIA Board of Directors, the text transcribed below was communicated by Document Letter to APAT (Association of Touring Car Drivers) on 12-22-2023:

“Due to your decision to exclude yourself from the organization scheme (FIA-ACA) led by this institution in the country, and considering that the brand of National Tourism (denominative) is classes 4, 9, 12, 16 , 17, 18, 20 , 25 , 35, 38, 39, 40, 41, 42, 43, 44, have been owned by ACA since 1975 according to INPI records, ACA has the obligation to inform them that they should immediately stop using the name in holding competitions or any activity related to motor sport. In this sense, we inform you that you must not use such names in the championship that you organize for the year 2024 and subsequently, under the warning of taking legal action for improper use of the brand, damages, and the moral damage that will be caused. in the ACA.”
