“I was afraid that the car would catch fire” – runner Nifontova after the seventh stage of the Silk Road

russian runner Anastasia Nifontova told his impressions of the passage of the seventh special of the Silk Way rally-raid in the classification of all-terrain vehicles.

The crew of Nifontova and Zhadanova covered the distance in 3 hours 29 minutes and 36 seconds.

– Today is not my track, it is not my nature of the tracks. It was fields, straights, full throttle. We started the first part when it was wet, we were very careful, then we got a little lost.

We met KAMAZ from Kupriyanov, then Nikita Mazepin caught up with us and for a while the three of us rode together: Kupriyanov, Mazepin and us. Then for some reason Mazepin started driving a little slower, we drove around him in the field and came to the gas station right in front of him. Refuel and gallop forward. And literally 40-50 kilometers from the finish line, we had a wheel puncture, and we didn’t feel it right away: at the standstill, it was already smoking, just ragged.

But you can’t immediately put a hot wheel on a car, because it can catch fire. We waited for it to cool by pouring water on it. The rest of the way, I was afraid that the car would catch fire. I don’t like these tracks, because I don’t know how to ride in such conditions. But these are races, everything is possible here,” Nifontova told reporters.

The “Silk Way” rally-raid will end in Moscow on July 16.
