russian pilot Nikita Mazepin shared his impressions of the seventh stage of the Silk Way rally-raid.
Mazepin covered the distance in the all-terrain vehicle category in 3 hours 25 minutes 29 seconds. The day before the stage in Kalmykia, there were heavy rains.
“The mud didn’t last that long. I was hoping it would end; it was like being in a bunker, you couldn’t see anything. The windshield wipers didn’t clean anything. An interesting experience, the car has a lot slipped on clay. For the past three days I’ve been eating for fun. Honestly, I haven’t seen the results, but there seems to be a rhythm. I’m happy with them, depending on our speed.
I think the cool weather has had a good effect on the car, it’s running 100 percent. The car has become more comfortable to drive. I’m used to this pace, but I would like to sleep more. Gradually you get used to this rhythm, but from the driving point of view, the terrain has changed a lot. It’s quieter here. We have a limiter at 140 (km/h). However, for me, compared to past experience, it is not so fast that the pulse increases, but it increases due to the heat.
The “Silk Way” rally-raid will end in Moscow on July 16.
