Russian team driver “KAMAZ-master” Edward Nikolaev shared his impressions of the seventh stage of the Silk Way rally-raid.
Nikolaev covered the distance in 2 hours 45 minutes 51 seconds. Dmitry Sotnikov, also representing KAMAZ-master, finished in 2:52.09.
– We saw the dust of Dima Sotnikov in the distance. I tried to drive, to catch up, but it is very important for us to do comparative tests of our cars, because the two cars are different, they only look alike. These tests are necessary to better understand which machines we should build. Now we have arrived, but it is the technical secret of the team, what is the difference until we can talk about it and talk about it. Sorry.
We went to Dmitry. It was difficult, the dust was thick and many kilometers could not approach. But then these steppes, fields, grassy roads appeared, wide, it is clear that it is safe. And already just tried to ride on undercuts. We also drove on the limit, the guys got honked. They saw us and missed us for 20 kilometers. A great extra leg, a great stage, we rode well, I’m happy with both the navigation and the equipment,” said Nikolaev.
The “Silk Way” rally-raid will end in Moscow on July 16.
