Formula 1 team”McLaren “announced the renewal of the contract with the British pilot Lando Norris .
The duration of the new deal with the 24-year-old driver has not been announced, but it is noted that the Briton has signed a “multi-year contract” and will remain with the team after 2025. Norris’ last contract was signed in February 2022 and was valid until the end of the 2025 season.
“I grew up with McLaren and I feel at home here, the team has become family to me. It’s been an exciting journey so far, we’ve had our ups and downs, but last season showed our desire to come back and fight at the front.
The work that the whole team has done over the past year has been incredible and I am confident that I will be able to fight for victories in the future with McLaren,” Norris is quoted in the team’s press service.
Given that McLaren previously extended the deal with fellow driver Oscar Piastri, the team’s lineup will remain unchanged at least until the end of the 2026 season.
Last season in the Formula 1 championship, Norris finished second six times. Lando also took third place at the Qatar Grand Prix and reached the podium twice in the sprint races. He finished the year in sixth place in the individual rankings.
The new Formula 1 season starts in March.
